• Outsole: The improved STICKYGRIP rubber provides exceptional traction on all types of terrain, including mud and rocks. Now enhanced with extra grip for better traction on wet rocks. The new 8-mm-long STICKYGRIP lugs with beveled edges have been carefully positioned in multiple directions to improve grip, shed mud, boost propulsion from the toes, and facilitate a quicker heel strike. Larger lugs in high-wear areas extend the sole’s lifespan. A META-FLEX groove in the forefoot allows for greater elasticity when pushing off from the toes and more flexibility underfoot. A new adjacent vertical groove isolates the big toe, giving it greater freedom to further enhance takeoff. A flexible META-SHANK plate—along with the fully wrapped rubber outsole—protects the bottom of the foot from sharp rocks, while allowing the feet to move naturally and feel the terrain: The new POWERFLOW PRO foam midsole provides a cushioned stride that maintains high levels of responsiveness. This incredible comfort and propulsion underfoot is designed to let you feel the ground as you run over uneven and challenging terrain. The total stack heights (all the shoe material between your foot and the ground) of 33 mm at the heel and 27 mm at the forefoot, combined with a 6 mm drop, contribute to a super-cushioned and comfortable ride for all distances, including ultras. The midsole measures 18 mm at the heel and 12 mm at the forefoot: An ultra-durable yet flexible ballistic material forms the upper, providing excellent durability and protection. Thicker, overlapping MET-CRADLE straps connect the midfoot to the heel, so that when the laces are tightened, they pull inward to provide a secure, supportive feel. The reinforced tongue prevents dirt from slipping past the laces and into the shoe, while additional protection and comfort are provided by a thicker protective toe cap. The upper is 3D-printed—a first in inov-8’s history. Shape and Fit: The shoe’s new shape conforms to the natural contours of the entire foot, with a more natural toe box and enhanced heel support. This provides greater comfort, more confidence, and unhindered performance. The forefoot width of the sole is 105 mm.
