The compass comes with a slope card and a distance cord. The slope card is excellent for both assessing avalanche risk and determining how challenging your hike will be. The distance cord has two scales—1:25,000 and 1:50,000—making it easy to measure the distance of your hike. Since it’s soft and flexible, it’s easy to place it directly along your route on the map.
The Ranger Global features a DryFlex™ grip for easy handling and comes with a declination scale for use anywhere inside the case, a magnifying lens, and a base plate with map measurements in mm and scales of 1:25k and 1:50k. The base plate is curved on the back for a perfect fit in your hand. The red/black north-south lines on the bottom of the capsule ensure easy and secure placement. The various arrows and scales/markings in a clear, contemporary font, combined with the base plate’s high transparency, make navigation easier: when held up to the light, the luminous markings allow for nighttime navigation.
