In technical footwear, a good fit is essential to improve your performance. Inov8’s new fit scale makes it easy to find the perfect shoe. All Inov8 shoes are designed with Met-Cradle technology to lock in the midfoot for stable grip, but differ in the toe box. The shoes are now graded from 1 to 5, with grade 1 representing the most precise fit and grade 5 the widest toe box.

The lower the number on the scale, the tighter the fit, ensuring minimal internal foot movement when running fast on technical terrain. Shoes with higher numbers on the scale suit athletes with a wider foot and those who want extra comfort in the toe box. This wider toe box allows the toes to spread apart for increased stability when lifting heavy weights. It is also perfect for long runs when toes start to swell. Inov8 has rated the Trailfly G 270 V2 as a Grade 5.

With a new main mesh material in the upper, the Trailfly G 270 V2 is more durable than before. It has been proven in lab tests to be 25% more durable than the V1 while maintaining its light weight and exceptional flexibility. The durable mesh, along with the super-tough graphene rubber outsole, helps you get the most out of the shoe. The mesh provided in the upper will allow air to flow in and out, allowing warm air to escape and cool air to enter, creating the perfect microclimate for your feet. This will work consistently over a long period of time, keeping you cool and comfortable for long miles. The upper is also designed to provide the foot with full protection against any shock. Four overlapping straps on both sides of the upper help to give the foot a strong hold. These overlays have been relocated further back to allow for greater elasticity and unrestricted breathability in the forefoot. The wide toe box allows comfort to be maintained. Finally, the new snug-fitting tongue incorporates updated cushioning to improve midfoot support and provide increased cushioning and comfort in the upper, as well as a more secure fit that helps reduce the risk of slipping inside the shoe.

The midsole of the Trailfly G270 V2s is made of Powerflow Max foam, which provides maximum comfort. The midsole’s foam technology provides you with increased rebound as well as exceptional energy return. Not only this, but the material offers excellent durability and shape retention for the perfect cushioned fit. In addition, the Boomerang insole is made with expanded thermo polyurethane beads that compress and recover 40% more energy than previous insoles. The effective cushioning of the midsole will cause joints such as knees and ankles to suffer reduced impact, preventing injury and fatigue. Shocks are also absorbed instantly and effectively, reducing the risk of injury from hard or sudden impacts against the sole of the foot.

The Graphene-Grip rubber outsole offers the ultimate in control and traction on the world’s toughest trails. Graphene is able to form an extremely strong grip on a wide range of different surfaces, ensuring total control on uncertain terrain. Resilient by nature, the outsole will maintain its shape and definition over a long period of time. Because it is so tough, the outsole will remain functional and effective over the long term as well as over time. The detailed construction and design of the 4mm lugs will further anchor the feet in place, maintaining a sense of security and ensuring a solid and strong base for pushing off from take-offs, providing confidence on landings and control when changing direction.
